What are the points to note in choosing a study programme?
In choosing a study programme, you are advised to read carefully the programme requirements,or at the institutions' websites to make sure that you will be able to meet the programme entrance requirements (e.g. language and subject requirements at the HKCEE and/or HKALE, etc.).
Before choosing a study programme, please also visit the JUPAS homepage under "News & Events" for updated information on institutions' study programmes (Please also refer to here).
How can I contact the institutions or find out more about their study programmes?
To enable you to find the study programmes you are interested in easily from the participating-institutions, you can go to Programme Search and select the institution(s) and area(s) of studies of your interest by clicking on the drop down lists.
Programmes related to the area(s) of studies which you have selected will be shown for all participating-institutions as applicable.
The institutions welcome you to find out more about them and their programmes. There will be various activities throughout the year, including open days, consultation, and information sessions, etc. The dates for the Information Day / Open Day of the institutions are listed here.
You can also contact the institutions directly to request further information. Their postal / e-mail / website addresses and telephone / fax numbers can also be found here.
Contact information in relation to individual study programme can also be found here.
No Contact with Participating-Institutions during the period 30 June - 3 July 2009.
To ensure that JUPAS remains a fair and objective system for applicants, official advice (including information dissemination, career guidance, programme counselling, formal / informal contacts with applicants, etc.) will NOT be given by the JUPAS participating-institutions to applicants during the period between the announcement of the HKALE results and the deadline for modification of study programme choices (between 30 June - 3 July 2009), regardless of who initiate the approach.
How many study programmes can I choose?
You may apply for admission to a maximum of 25 study programmes (which include full-time bachelor's degree programmes of the 9 participating-institutions, associate degree programmes of CityU, higher diploma programmes of PolyU and higher diploma programme of HKIEd) from amongst those listed under Programme Information. There is no restriction on the number of degree / associate degree / higher diploma programmes that you can select from each institution, so long as the total does not exceed 25.
Please make sure that you enter the correct study programme you wish to choose. If by mistake you enter another programme, you will be considered for admission to that other programme.
You are requested to list your choices in order of preference. The JUPAS scheme is designed to assist you in obtaining the best offer possible according to your interests as represented by the order of your preferences and your qualifications. It is therefore important that you prioritize your study programme choices according to your true academic and career aspirations.
Do the institutions know the order of my programme choices?
NO. The JUPAS computer system is designed to ensure that the information on actual choices of each applicant are not revealed to institutions until after the announcement of the Main Round Offer results.
The institutions only have a general idea of how you rank your programme choices. They do not have access to your actual rank list. Your preferences are made known to the institutions in the form of 5 bands as follows:
BAND |
PROGRAMME CHOICE NO. |
A |
1 |
- |
3 |
B |
4 |

6 |
C |
7 |
- |
10 |
D |

Within each Band, programme choices are made known to the institutions in numerical order without regard to the actual choice order. For example, if you have chosen the following programmes as your Band A choices:
| 1st choice : |
6004 |
| 2nd choice : |
1016 |
| 3rd choice : |

| 1016 |
| 4018 |
| 6004 |
