BA (Hons) History

Short Description

In the History degree at Lingnan, students will learn about the global past and the many different ways that one may interpret it in order to more fully appreciate the state of the world today. It is not possible to understand the present without knowing the past. Upon successful completion of this programme, students will:

  • be able to think critically, analyse, organise and communicate effectively;
  • have attained a capacity for critical analysis, independent study and in-depth research;
  • be prepared for entry into a wide range of occupations that value these important transferable skills;
  • have acquired an academic foundation for further study in history or for the study of other disciplines in the arts, humanities and social sciences.
