Non-official JUPAS Websites and JUPAS Apps

There may be non-official websites and mobile applications using the name of JUPAS and publishing information taken from the JUPAS website (in whole or in part) without our consent or authorisation.  This information may falsely claim to be affiliated with JUPAS, or claim that the information is reprinted from JUPAS.

Such information may be misleading or taken out of context.  JUPAS takes no responsibility for its accuracy and reserves the rights to pursue legal actions against such unauthorised usage of proprietary information.

The ONLY OFFICIAL PUBLICATIONS of JUPAS are:

Any other sources are considered unofficial and are not endorsed by the JUPAS Office.

You are therefore strongly advised NOT to give your personal data or other information to these unauthorised websites or mobile applications.  JUPAS is not responsible for the data protection and privacy issues of such information.

Unauthorised Activity on JUPAS Website / Online Application System

Visitors to our website are reminded that any unauthorised attempt to hack into the JUPAS Website or the JUPAS Online Application System, including but not limited to, obtaining applicants' information, is illegal and the matter will be referred to law enforcement authorities for investigation and prosecution.

Fraud Alert

Some organisation(s) might contact JUPAS applicants claiming they have obtained applicants' personal data from the JUPAS Office for direct marketing or other commercial purposes.  Please note that the JUPAS Office will NEVER release applicants' data to any unauthorised third parties (i.e. those other than the authorised parties stated in Purpose of Collection and Use of Personal Data).

Should there be any unauthorised third parties claiming they have obtained applicants' information from the JUPAS Office, JUPAS reserves the rights to pursue legal actions for such and similar fraudulent claims.

There may also be parties / individuals who falsely claim to represent the JUPAS Office and offer advice on JUPAS matters, in particular programme selections.  This claim is again FRAUDULENT, as the JUPAS Office acts solely as a processing agent for handling applications for admission to programmes offered by the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions.  Admission decisions are made independently by the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions, and is independent of the JUPAS Office.  In this regard, the JUPAS Office will NEVER give advice to applicants on programme selections.

Should there be any unauthorised third parties claiming they have obtained applicants' data from the JUPAS Office, or are personnel from the JUPAS Office, JUPAS reserves all legal rights to seek compensation for such and similar fraudulent claims.

Bogus Calls and Emails

Fraudulent individual(s) might contact applicants, claiming they represent the JUPAS Office and offering advice on programme selections.

They might ask applicants to bring their academic qualifications to meet them at an agreed place.  The JUPAS Office will NEVER make such meeting appointments outside the JUPAS Office (located at Room 248, Main Building, The University of Hong Kong, Pokfulam, Hong Kong).  IT MAY BE UNSAFE FOR APPLICANTS TO MEET SUCH INDIVIDUALS IN PERSON.

The JUPAS Office is a processing agent for handling applications for admission to programmes offered by the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions.  In this regard, the JUPAS Office will never approach applicants to offer any advice.

Please note that the JUPAS Office will ONLY contact applicants via the following channels:

  • By phone with the numbers of (852) 2334 2929 / 2233 2929

  • By emails under the domain name of @jupas.edu.hk

  • By SMS which are sent with the Registered SMS Sender ID of #JUPAS to a valid Hong Kong mobile phone number

Any fraudulent use of JUPAS Office's and JUPAS's names different from above will be referred to law enforcement authorities for investigation and prosecution.

Fraudulent Payment Links

Unauthorised third parties may use the JUPAS's name to request payments via non-official payment links, claiming to be an official payment channel of JUPAS.  These links might be sent via emails or embedded in SMS.

Please note that the JUPAS Office will NEVER request payment via any payment channels outside of the JUPAS Online Application System.  Applicants are therefore strongly advised to verify all payment links very carefully.  JUPAS is not responsible for any financial loss resulting from fraudulent payment requests.
