Application Information

School Principal's Nominations (SPN)

Introduction

The main objective of SPN is to give due recognition to applicants who have made contributions to social services or have demonstrated outstanding achievements in non-academic areas, such as creative activities, arts, community services, leadership abilities, music, other cultural activities and sports.

Submission of SPN

School applicants who possess any of the above qualities or have outstanding achievements in the above areas are eligible to be considered for nominations under SPN by their school principals.

Non-school applicants who possess any of the above qualities or have outstanding achievements may approach the principals of their former schools to enquire about the possibility of being nominated.

The decision to nominate applicants under SPN rests entirely with the discretion of the school principals / principals of the applicants' former schools.  The JUPAS Office is NOT responsible for any disputes between applicants and schools regarding the nomination.

Applicants who are nominated under School Nominations Direct Admission Scheme (SNDAS) are not eligible for nomination under SPN, and vice versa.

Deadline for Submission of SPN by School Principals

The deadline for school principals to submit SPN via the JUPAS Online Application System is 11 May 2026 (5:00 pm).

Late submission / further amendment is NOT accepted.

Special Consideration of SPN

Applicants nominated under SPN will be considered by the 9 JUPAS participating-institutions and the SSSDP institutions (the Institutions) for their Band A programme choices as at 27 May 2026 (5:00 pm), on an individual basis.  Nevertheless, nomination does not guarantee admission.

The Institutions may at their discretion:

  1. make conditional offers (in terms of achievements in HKDSE Examination) before the release of the HKDSE Examination results; or

  2. give bonus points to the nominated applicants when they compile the merit order lists for the iteration process to improve the applicants' chances of admission to the nominated programmes; or

  3. give no conditional offers nor bonus points to the nominated applicants.

Applicants who receive conditional offers will be guaranteed places in the respective programmes provided that they meet the conditions specified by the offering Institutions.  Their applications will also continue to be considered by all other programme choices during the Main Round.

Modification of Band A Programme Choices after the Release of the 2026 HKDSE Examination Results

Applicants may modify their Band A programme choices after the release of the HKDSE Examination results.  However, only Band A programme choices selected as at 27 May 2026 (5:00 pm) will be forwarded to the Institutions for their considerations under SPN.  Therefore, special considerations may not be given to programme choices originally in lower bands which are moved to Band A or new programme choices added to Band A after the release of the HKDSE Examination results.

Any conditional offers and / or bonus points granted under SPN may be withdrawn if the Band A programme choices as at 27 May 2026 (5:00 pm) are moved to lower bands after the release of the HKDSE Examination results, or if the applicants fail to meet the conditions specified in the conditional offers.

Feedback on Special Consideration of SPN

School principals will be notified by the respective Institutions of the feedback of their SPN prior to the release of the HKDSE Examination results.

Applicants who have been nominated under SPN may view the feedback and related information by logging in to their JUPAS accounts on 10 July 2026 (9:00 am).

Applicants are not required to respond to the feedback, if any, at this stage.  Their applications will continue to be considered by the Institutions in the Main Round.

The final admission decision will be announced together with the JUPAS Main Round offer results on 5 August 2026 (9:00 am)*.
